What Do U Do If U'r Friends R Talking Behind U'r Back?

*
I just thought this might be an interesting topic.
So if you find out from the grapevine
that someone is talking about you what do you do?
Do you get mad, angry, let it go,
blow up at the person, confront them...
Does it depend on who talks about you say a family member,
a neighbor, does that factor into your reaction?

If I find out someone I know is saying something not so nice about me, mmmm it initally hurts my feelings of course, but I try to let it go. If a person needs to be confronted I do, but you cannot help what every person says about you. I like if a person takes me aside and tells me they have an issue with this or that rather than having to hear something through another person.

I am more talking about not the internet community, but more of a personal level.

You know what Roxy! if your friends are talking behind your back then they really aren't friends to begin with. You should pretty much forget about them and find new ones.

I dont give it a second thought. The other day at work there were three ladies eating in the lunchroom. I've seen them plenty of times before and always said Hi as I passed by and they smiled and said Hello back. Three friends and I were sitting at the table next to them eating our lunch and talking about the buisness of the day as they chatted away in another language. About 10 minutes into our meal, my friend sitting with his back to them stopped eating, turned around and spoke to them very harshly, in thier language! They didnt know he was one of our translators and happen to speak thier language fluently. After lunch, he told us that the three ladies were speaking negatively about all of us and getting quite the laugh out of it. The looks on the ladies faces was priceless.

Rose. So far I don't know anyone who has talked behind my back! That I know of yet! If they talk nice about me, then it's good! But IF I know they talk behind my back I confront them and let them know straight up that I heard it from either the horses mouth or through a very good friend of mine of what they said about me. Real friends are the kind of people who can look you in the face and tell you anything and you will be okay with it, for the most part of it. You can accept what they say, because you love them and you know that they want what is best for you! Those people who only appear to be your friends can be spotted a mile away, because those are the friends you only meet on the street and your never invited to their house. A real friend knows where everything is at in your house, and doesn't need to ask for anything from the refrigerator, because he/she knows where everything is at. I don't really have people who aren't my friends, because they come and go, and I only meet them in the streets and or at someones house. But you know that you can't please everyone. for your visit my dear.

Yes, that happens, and it sad that it does. I speak Ilocano, Tagalog and of course English, so I can know if someone is talking about me. I too can be with a group of friends and speak tagalog and I know that other people around me may feel uncomfortable about what we are talking about, and they may think we are talking about them. What can I say if I am not talking about them? Ask them if they want me to talk in English? As you know I am a Filipino, and my first language of course is tagalog, so knowing multiple languages is a big benefit. Heck, even my husbands thinks I am talking about him negatively when I talk to my other friends or relatives, but that is just the way it is. If I do talk about him, I translate it in English and let him know. I would have loved to see their face though. I always love to see someone getting caught in the act!

I know you have a lot of real friends in your real world but there is always one of your friend that you can trust and you could tell everything/sharing your personal life. Did you know that we can tell to our real friends what's going on with us than our own family?
Yes, I agree with you, it is nice to talk with them in private to
settle everything down. You know you can't trust everyone, but keep the trust and use your instinct. Most of my friends tell me their deepest secrets, and I never tell anyone what they told me! Maybe that's why they like me and I am easy to please. Me too, I have a lot of friends too like you. But I am the kinda girl who is lazy to write or call sometimes so I am glad that they are the ones who like to call me.
Just in case that people talk bad about you and then if you don't care, it's okay because you know it is not true. Real/true friends are the ones to tell you straight to your face, you know I heard this and I want to ask if it is true, and you don't get mad at them.

Sometimes people you think you know
can be the strangers you always want to AVOID.

So true, Li ! It takes time for people to really get to know each other, and see what each person is really all about. Once you know someone better, then that is the time if you decide to become their real friend, or just one of the many people in their lives.

I make it a pack to myself, that I keep my closest friend near to my heart. It takes time for me to met new people, but I am happy for those people whose seems to be my friends, because I don't like to avoid anyone unless I have to.

They can stab me all they want, but if I know that I have nothing to hide, and I am doing the right thing, and it's none of their business, I won't give a damn...I will just remove those people from my friends list and consider them good riddance..But I won't degrade myself playing the game they play.

Wow! You are tough woman Elz ! People who talk behind peoples back are either envious or jealous of that person. You could say that most people talk about people behind their backs, and it is just a natural thing for most people to do, when they don't have anything positive to do with their time. There is an old saying, that goes like this: "Great minds think alike, and fools seldom differ. Anonymous". Its not good for having an enemies. If someone talking behind your back Forgive and forget. Would you really delete their names from your friends list? for your visit my dear. Have a .

My friends wont do that, maybe other people would, but then, THE OTHERS DON't MATTER ... so it's better to do NOTHING to people who means NOTHING.

Yes, your answer is so right Ate Cat . Friends have a way to tell you stuff straight to your face without beating around the bush. Most people want to hear things from their friends too, because they know that their real friends have only their best interest at heart. When we are around are good friends, there are no worries!
