My Adoptive Family.... It's not a secret that I am by myself, single, and no REAL FAMILY here in McAllen, TX  ..Even my only is no longer with me after joining me from RP in December 2002. He is on his own now and living a very independent life.Of course, it's been a long time that I yearned to have my own family (no matter how imperfect it is), but so far, I'm still not blessed with one at this point. But I am so gifted with very few meaningful friends who are willing to ADOPT me anytime, specially, at the time when I need them most. Just recently, I spent my New Year in Orlando, Florida, where I was "adopted" by our co-FFF member, ROXY ROXYBARBIE and her wonderful family. Even if my mini-vacation was brief, I felt I belonged temporarily to a FAMILY...I was warmly welcomed and treated as their own. And it is a very good feeling! You see, just because I lack one of the most important units in our society, that doesn't mean that I cannot have one. It's not the quantity of time, they always say, but the quality of time spent together which is PRICELESS...I felt LOVED... At this point in my life, I do not regret what I do not have, but I see to it that I enjoy the company of my so called ADOPTIVE FAMILY..I thank God for selected wonderful people that I meet, and as always, I COUNT MY BLESSINGS.. wow nice to know pangga that you had you new year celebration with sis Roxie... it is great that amidst of being alone, you have your family in friends! we are on the same boat pangga, i am alone since 2004 and far from my family, even if i am here in Manila, i am still alone and my colleagues are now my family. A healthy friendship changes and grows ‒ i.e. it is dynamic. How do we know if it is alive or not? It must be growing and changing constantly. A healthy friendship will encourage personal growth as well as allow both parties to explore safely with new ideas and experiences.

Great to have someone to share your life with when you're alone and continue to keep you company and be a good friend like Ate Roxy. Are you off today Ate Elz? My mom is excited about going home in PI next year and tidying our old stuff to give away to our relatives and friends. I still have to do my share of tidying.  We like to recycle and not waste.   within each one of us, and let it begin with me (and each one of us)..one breath at a time.

Jane, ever since, I've been very honest about who and what I am, and I still the same Elsa the entire FFF has known. I do not hide my FEELings. I know I am blessed with a lot of things in this life, and I am proud to say that I've shared most of those blessings to my loved-ones, and the things that I feel "deprived", I also do something about them. I take time to belong to special people even if it is only for a brief period of time. I will die happy knowing that I've done what I always wanted and that I had the opportunity to do them, at least, once in a lifetime. Just call me ELZ
