Today, I feel like a true Angel...

They say that honesty is the best policy...I was in downtown McAllen, TX yesterday, looking for a nice buddha to buy and decorate at my 's new apartment. In the designated parking lot, I saw a black attache` case. It wasn't locked...I opened it, eager to find out who the owner was. There were lots of credit cards, Mexican pesos and blank checks. I tried to look for something to contact the owner of the attache` case...I never called Mexico for long distance, and I didn't know how, but I managed to call my workplace and from there I was given the instructions...Finally, I was able to speak to the owner of the lost and found item. I told him to drive back to McAllen, USA and I will gladly return all that belongs to him....

Today, we met at HEB supermarket, where I verified his true identity, and I handed back to him the things he owned. I felt so good, when he called me an "ANGEL"...There aren't too many honest people these days...I am happy to be able to prove to the world that indeed, virtues and values taught to us by our elderlies and ancestors are worth practising. It feels so good knowing that I am appreciated, and most importantly, I feel good about myself, not being blinded by greed and dishonesty...It feels great to feel and be considered an ANGEL...

Thanks Cel!....You're the first one to post...And this is a true to life, honest to goodness experience...Not that I am glorifying myself, but I think, despite the hardships that we have these days, we do still have a lot of honest people and the foundation of our character and upbringing will always have an influence in our daily lives...

Hello kiddie sis! ..Yes, it's a true story..Here in the USA, if one is dishonest, s/he'll be able to use the credit cards and forge someone's signature and issue him/herself a fat check from those found inside the attache` case, or spend all the money inside it, and still get away with it for at least 24 hours without being caught...Anything more than that...the cards will be "frozen"...But, you see, dishonesty is one thing that will yield to a bad "karma"...And I don't need it...

If I happened to be on the opposite pole, and I lost those valuables and someone who found it will take advantage of the situation, I'll go crazy calling all the credit cards companies and banks to report the loss, and it is a severe headache to try and get credit for all those spent by the finder, and worse scenario would be a victim of an identity theft resulting from the important information inside that attache`...I sure will be very happy if I was the owner and someone returned them all to me...These days, I'll be lucky to find one..If I can't be happy, at least, making someone that, will make me smile...
