Remembering September 11, (9/11) 2001...New York City

It's been 6 long years since it happened. I still feel the SHOCK, the HORROR, the AGONY of feeling other people's pains for the loss of their loved ones, the GUILT for not having done more than I should to save lives, and the ANGER to the terrorists who did the barbaric acts...These awful feelings, when will they ever resolve?

I was there, working in Pediatric ICU when the planes hit the Twin Towers. I knew all along that it was more than an air disaster. It was an act of terrorism. Few hours later, there was an emergency meeting, contingency plans, and rescue teams were dispatched. I was one of them. My heartbeat raced as if it needed defibrillation, itself.

Explosions, fires, dusts everywhere, loud sirens, EMT's, NYPD's, Firefighters, Medical Teams, Volunteers, people running, some bleeding, cellular services out...there was chaos everywhere, and THE WORLD WATCHED. In the midst of it all, I was praying: "Lord, if I may not be able to see my loved ones again, just please take good care of my only . Let me help others survive, but Lord, please spare my life as well."

I can no longer tell you the details which most of you already know. I am not emotionally fit to write that at this moment. Right at this moment, my tears are falling down my face. It is one of the reasons why I left the city that I love the most. I ran away, but the memories stayed with me, despite several counselling from my former job.

From New York City to McAllen, Texas...Big difference (From Great City, to the Valley)...My lifestyle has changed and turned almost 360 degrees, but the memory lingers.

LET US ALL PRAY FOR WORLD PEACE IN SILENCE.......

Thank you!

Thank you Saphira...This meaningful post of yours sent chills to my spine. We will always remember...I know, I will. Just like a lost love, it will always be in my thoughts, at least.

Thanks Jeff. I know, they will show the event on t.v. all over again 2 days from now. I will relive the moments. I hope I'll be stronger to accept that it is just a part of my painful past. And I hope and pray that nothing of that horrible nature will ever happen again elsewhere.

i remember that date very well , i just moved in my new house in antwerpen , and a friend of me called and said it was war .

i did'nt get it right away untill she reffered to the news i heard on the radio about the twin towers .
Tomorrow is the day of commemoration here in the USA..In a way, I feel very sad, but I can only hope and pray that those who've lost their loved ones and never found any evidence of their demise will finally find resolution and moved on.

tragedies happen when the world forgets how to be kind, patient, considerate, & most specially inclusive of all religions & cultures into their own space.. i saw the horror of 9/11 but it is just an iota of the tragedies happening in poor populations all over the planet that are in less known countries experiencing murder, , decapitation of whole communities, hunger, drought, floods, etc.. God save us from ourselves!!

You are very right there Hon...The only difference is when one (like me) was actually there, part of the horrifying experience that shocked the world.. Until now, I am traumatized. Really, God did not do this to us...Mankind has remarkably ruined themselves and that includes us...How are you doing Hon? I hope you are always in the pink of health.

Robert, I feel for those who had to sacrifice their lives for their countries and for the principles that they stand for. I hear you when you say that elsewhere in all parts of the world, death and torture is part of their daily lives....Indeed, in many instances/circumstances...September 11 brings horrifying memories. It is still the 10th of September as of this writing.

I know Robert...When I wake up tomorrow, I will decide if I want to watch television and see the replay of that fateful day...God bless America. And God bless the entire world.

In commemoration of the fateful day, 9/11, I am hiding the post (blog) entitled: Friends' Upgrade, Lovers' Downgrade..Is Everyone Agreeable To This. I find it not appropriate to display it TODAY. It's a day of respect and mourning for most of us. Thank you!
