To LIke or DisLike?

Social media has its way of bringing families, old friends, and even old flames together. It also gives us the opportunity to make new friends and acquaintances. Some people even go "fishing" by going through the posts and photos of friends in the hope of finding that special someone they've been waiting for because they feel more secured and confident that "screening" of that person's character would be less since s/he will be vouched by the original friend. However, social media is also a venue of hatred, envy, gossips, and war (both cold and fiery) . Your general posts can be read and "owned" by one or more people on your friends' list as if you are addressing the issue/s to them. However, most people are not trained or gifted with sound judgement/good manners to at least, use the PM ( Private Message ), to clarify things before they jump into conclusions. On the contrary, most people are very good at doing just that, jumping into conclusions. What I am blogging today is not related to any of the past or recent personal incidents in my social media. I am writing because of what I generally observe and read on my daily notifications on my friends and friends of friends' timelines. I would like to make my opinion about the LIKE button. Some people are generous in "liking" whatever posts we make. Some people are just busy lurking in. To me, I am in favor of "removing" the LIKE button because although it creates a "happy mood" to the recipient, it can also cause a negative impression if all of a sudden, the people who used to constantly like no longer do that. Or the person of personal interest (specially your crush) never ever liked your post Thank God, FB did not push through with the DISLIKE button but came up with other emoticons instead. What I'm saying is: People do or undo things purposely, quietly, and even sarcastically, but still, may get different reactions. That is human nature. And sometimes, it is contagious. But sometimes, others form a "gang". But let us not allow the social media to get the better of us. No matter what the situation is, It is still important to be KIND.

Jane, we are both seasoned and very observant and tolerant about the social media and how peeps react, and interact. We just know how to deal with it in our own mature ways. Unfortunately, the majority is not the same. Hence, we have more freedom to post our opinions and personal feelings here in FFF better than in FB, because here, we can just be ourselves...

Meann, sad to say, our friends and acquaintences are not totally isolated from each other in the social media. Most of them, even though had finished college or well-educated, are not well-mannered. And since they are who they are, change can only come from within them, at their own terms, but sometimes, at our own expense.

Elz as I said in my blog (of the same connotation but different title lol) I like everybody even Donald Trump . It is what people stand for or have done that I don't like. In social media, I use "like" sparingly. I really have to like what I see, what I perceive and what I read to use that button. I've learned not to be affected by negative comments and be slow in coming to conclusions. I stopped caring about what people will say. I guess this comes with "maturity". I do this in the name of my corporal and mental health.

I'm a senior citizen . Don't expect me to remember anything

Ka Bert, good thing you're a man and a mature man at that. I can see that you are not affected by negative people or negative attitudes. Those are the things that most women care about

I wish fff had the like button so I could like your blog. And I wish I there would be a dislike button so I can dislike hopefuture's blog.. lol. Talking about PM's.. some people also use the dang thing to harass people while they pretend to be saints before the public eye. Some people deserve to be buried alive so they can be remembered as martyrs.. lol.
