For "The Wounded"....

How many of us have been wounded more than once? What have we learned from being hurt? What was our attitude after that?...Life is full of changes, and we are not immune to them. I used to believe that marriage is a union of two people in love who vow to stick with one another "For Better Or For Worse"...Tsk!tsk!tsk!...Not Anymore!! ...For a while, I thought long and hard, that YES!....I'll marry again...but being single again for so many years, and having enjoyed the freedom and space that I regained, I had a major change of heart...In my 40's the men that I met here, there, and everywhere were reluctant to get hitched again. But now that I'm in my early 50's, surprisingly, most men that I meet are into marriage (again) ..Why is that? Is it because "sunset" is almost nearing, and one just needs to have a companion to watch it, holding hands, as s/he had experienced just about everything that life has to offer?...Again, I would say, as we grow older, our needs grow deeper, and our wants become all the more just secondary...

Jane, I am so happy that I am NOT ALONE, feeling this way...At first, I thought it is not normal, and that I am giving up my moral values...But, I guess, in time, even the values change as people are getting more realistic...

Elz,

Good morning to all here! Funny one morning waking up and he is into dying just his nature. He said he'd rather go first so he can haunt me! I said if i go i'll hunt this!!! LOL Anyways, i don't believe in marriage anymore. After going thru hell, why would i ever again. I'm not that masochistic. Yes, it's nice someone there by you watching. At this moment in time hidden motives. Parang business deal. I'm all about true love or nothing...

Greatest feelings in the world when two souls profess a love for each other...

ELZ,

This made me wonder, what am I really searching (for now)? A nice steady relationship more on the 'companionship' than bearing someone else's name (again). Someone who'll stay by me despite the odds, differences, in my better and worst days, committed even without that piece of paper we called MC (marriage certificate)

What is marriage really? Just a piece of sentimental vows you can easily discard should your viewpoints clash. Am a non believer before, much more now.

Just my take on the subject - no offense to everyone!

Thet, I think, most of us feel that way, irregardless of religious denominations. Some say it's very UN-CATHOLIC..but, look!...most of us who are wounded, are Catholics. Believing in the sanctity of the matrimonial sacrament is one thing, but fulfilling the same is another. In which case, the latter had been a failure, not by one person, but both...

ELZ>> The end of the line is that we need someone to grow old with,...and dont let our wounds tie us to our past. Life is so good and we can only afford to be happy as we grow old. Creating one;s happiness is a skill we have to develop.

I need someone to rub my back with my pumice stone when taking a bath,, someone whom i rub back and we need complementing hands to take care of each other's needs..(Not only his needs ok!)

hurts n pains are spices of life.. charge all to experience and learn from it.

maligaya and merring paskow!! Susan
