How Looooooong? (Please Quantify)

Okay! She likes you, you like her, you chat,video-cam, talk on the phone, and "maybe" even send snail letters (to make it more symbolic and with personal touch). Then, you develop a stronger emotional attachment, intensifying that LIKE to LOVE ...But you are here, and s/he is there, somewhere, far away (and it can be domestically far, I mean, interstate for those who live in the USA and elsewhere). And now, isn't it that if TWO (not ONE ) individuals are in LOVE, there is this longing to SEE (eyeball), FEEL (the warmth), HEAR (the voice), and TOUCH (something ) the subject (would you rather hear the word "object" ) of your affection?...So then, in all honesty, (and please don't give me the word irrelevant, immaterial, financial and all the BS excuses) how long do you think would YOU rather SEE/MEET each other? Please give me a time frame even if it's only a "wishful" thinking ...There's got to be desirable timetable whether it is feasible or not...In this time and age, it doesn't matter anymore if it's the MAN or the woman who'd initiate the EyeBall ...Just Do It!

Anak nang huweteng naman Elz, sunod sunod lumalabas blog ninyo...para na akong palaka dito going back and forth between blogs..

As a disclaimer, we really can't set an arbitrary period - everyone has different situations and as John Steinbeck wrote, the best laid plans of mice and men...it is up to the people involved to plan what is most suitable for them..as long as both are ok with it and in it a mutual decision. Now, having said that...

I think between 6-12 months is a fair estimate, give or take a month. It gives the couple time to talk and learn more about each other, and it also gives them time to save up or plan for some time off ( as some jobs need 3 months advance warning, I kid you not) It also gives some leeway to make changes, in case something unexpected comes up. Let's face it, a year goes by fast so to me that is not long at all. That could be just me though, I am a patient man and I know some people are more demanding and impatient than I.

I set the limit to a year, because I think if you do end up planning a life together ( or at give it a go) you need time to plan and organize and that takes time. The sooner you meet, the sooner you can plan for the future. Again that is just me as I prefer to plan things out..not adverse to spontaneity but it should be planned spontaneity

Besides, baka di rin kayo mag click e di the sooner na basted e di the better..a rather lackadaisical approach, but you get my drift. I'd rather focus on the positive, and that is, the meeting is a mere formality because if both parties have been open and honest with each other both will want the meeting not to find out if they are right for each other, but merely to make it official.

Then again, I have moved heaven and earth so if I can do it, anyone can. No excuses. *bow*

My will is unbreakable. Simply put, I cannot be broken - Enrique

ELZ,

I'm a very patient woman as opposing to what I believe is the getting to know (visit, meet up close, EB or whatever we call) of virtual lovers - 1month. If you've been going steady over the net, one month of talking incessantly, professing love, tales of what nots (I'm sure by that time, he/she knows your every pet names ). It's a good nurturing period, for the urge ahh passion to grow.

However long the relationship in the net, simply not a guarantee for the love to be the 'love' in person. There's love at first sight and the un-love at first sight.

I find this a perfect time frame, Jane..Considering that it's LDR (International) and it may be expensive for the guy. But hey! it's a given. If he is really into her, he will find ways and means to see her and not be content with the webcam-skype and all the "freebies"...I would like to believe that she (us) are well-worth it...

But, of course, Enrique, that's what WE, WOMEN, would like to hear, and read , that a guy is sincere enough to plan to EYEBALL in such a very appropriate time...Kasi, if it's international, we know that it's gonna cause an arm and a leg (specially if the guy is going to the Philippines...Imagine, he is generally expected to treat not only the lady of his dreams, but at least, the closest people surrounding her)..And You are right, my job requires me to request for my vacation (if it's 2 weeks and over) 3 months ahead of time....So, then, we are on the same page on this one...Planning is a great idea, specially if you are a true-blooded Virgo....

It's gonna "COST" (not cause) an arm and a leg...I meant...

And not to mention, we also need to "physically", not only emotionally prepare for your cumming, eheste, coming... Meaning, we need to look our best...(that's a given for women as well, even though men will sing to us "I LOVE YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!" ) we normally try to lose weight or grow our hair long (don't you guys love long hair? ) and whatever!

You are very correct, Thet! =D$..And what I heard from the grapevine is that "some" men discreetly meet "other women" so that if the major target does not give them the required sparks, well then, they still have other options, and that will make their trip worth its every penny...

This is my take on this. Go ahead you can like one another but don't profess love for each other yet. If you like one another then decide to meet. No time frame is necessary as long as the liking doesn't fade. If it does then move on.

You need to meet to see if there is an iota of spark when you see each other, this is a good start, then the conversation and exchange of opinions define the compatibility and your wanting or not wanting to see each other again. If there is no spark or if the conversation is as boring as hell, then move on. If all is well then go on more dates to discover what possible future you have.

I've met many ladies, all wonderful in cyberworld. But when I met them. some were lacking in sparks, others appeared incompatible with me and I met them only once. Those that I dated more times either have too many expectations or have impractical concerns to resolve. I did not only break their hearts, they broke mine too.

But life goes on, we get up after each fall, we step forward even in pain. Till we find the one that we truly belong to.

Darn this is a blog in itself

I wish I can answer that question Tess...But one thing I can tell you, I have not entertained any FFF prospectives in a long time, as I don't find them "fit" and real.., and you know that I am a homebody here in McAllen...Just work, home, and mall..
