Social Networking: How Much of It Had Affected Your Life?

I started social networking in 2006 (officially), and being the loner that I am (still), I've created my own "virtual world" and it somehow helped me deal with my loneliness and boredom. I've met wonderful people online at first, and those that I picked, I've met in person, in real life. How much online social networking has affected my life? Very Much, in a good way, more than bad. How about you?

Depending on the purpose(s) that you all have, be it to find your partner, or simply to gain friends, no one can deny that social networking had impacted our lives, more ways than one..

Elz,

More ways the one very positive since meeting you. Yung bang getting excited in having EBs. Before i would just go to work and be in my room always. Til my mom got worried. Ging to this site really made my life happy...

Greatest feelings in the world when two souls profess a love for each other...

I've had my shares of bad and goodluck for the peeps that came my way thru social networking. Those that became friends, enemies and yes, BFs too (notice the plurality )..Means failure of a relationship (s)

I've a love, I've a life but I'm still here, it's my sanctuary.

I initially joined the social networking world to reconnect with friends. But as years pass and have become busy with everyday life, it has become a way to meet and gain new friends. Like you, I have met quite a few in person. There have been bad experiences but the good ones still out weight it so I stay on.

Jeanny, I cannot forget how we almost did not meet in person in San Francisco, and thank God, you were very patient in waiting for us... And we wore the same long sleeves as well, like we were twins...That was fantastic time dancing with you at the club (Solita's)...Hope to see you again, sweet Jeanny!

It's a good outlet, Tess, although, it can be addicting to some, and maybe, people have the tendency to have their own "world", apart from having the real world...

It's a good outlet for me, Thet!...and look at you! You do have a life outside FB and FFF, and yet, you still spend time with the wonderful friends that you've met here first, then, in real life there in RP...I'm still hoping to see you sooner...Take care!

Hey there, Lovely Lady ! I actually joined FB barely 3 years ago..to reconnect with relatives and friends...FFF was my very first virtual encounters with other people, and it was so scary at first...But here I am, after 7 long years, still around, with the wonderful people that I met and interact with. The only difference is, I have not found my "special someone" here..

Jane, I've always admired you for being adventurous in a very smart way. You really know how to take risks and get rid of the rubbish......I am very resistant in terms of "taking risks", AM I HAPPY? Well, in a way, I am, but I feel that if only I took some chances, I "probably" am happier...lolz..

As a matter of fact, I think my loyalty as a natural trait of mine is once again being proven here...There had been way too many websites offering social networking...But, here, at FFF, I found a home. And the good people that i've met here are my family...

Bestest Friend,I cannot thank you enough, as well as Gemma Malambing2, to be the very first male and female FFF members who've given me the courage to trust people again, specially those that i've never met in real life. You helped me break the ice...Thank you for the friendship..

One of the benefits of this is as sis Jean mentioned it's a lazier way of socialising. We can be literally effortless in the way we converse, don't have to move or change clothes or get ready. Just type.

Still nothing beats face-to-face chats and personal touches for me.

So far good experiences from networking. Anything bad in the virtual world I can ignore. Thankfully nothing bad has transferred from here into day to day life.

within each one of us, and let it begin with me (and each one of us)..one breath at a time.

Well, as you can see, even bloggers choose who to interact with and who to "ignore"...I know that I am on the ignore list of a couple of female bloggers (for sure), and vice-versa (for who cares, if they don't care? )...That tells us, we are free to choose our friends, and therefore ignore those who don't seem sincere to belong to our list, and also, just like FB, we can "unfriend" those who are on our list...

That`s why I love my computer, it´s all in one for me when I`m at home, it`s my radio, my tv, my chatfriend(s) I can reach my real friends thru efby and I found my bff in fff, so what more can I asks for? hah! maybe less time to spend as can be addicting at times...I took time out for few days and I made it

Elz,

Sinabe mo. It's sort of like an escape. We have the real world that's full of sadness and loneliness. Then happy world with your friends...
