Life is a Huge Theater....

Everyday, we wear different masks, depending on every situation, event, moods, and feelings. Sometimes, we laugh on the outside when in fact, deep inside, we are hurting. People, brag or bluff about achievements, relationships, and boast about all their success, never discussing any failures nor shortcomings , fooling themselves more than anyone else, trying to salvage their low self-esteem. Even bloggers seek acceptance, at times, pretending to be someone they're not, because to them it's a way of showing everyone else that everything is okay..Is it really?

However, there are those who prefer to role-play themselves, even in this HUGE THEATER... unafraid to expose their deepest within, unminding to be ridiculed, and even taking the risk to be stabbed on the back. No masks needed... Ahhh! It always feels good to be real, sharing and venting the happiest and lowest moments. For real friends and real people will accept us for who we are, but still remain understanding even at times, when it is necessary for us to don our masks. No matter how we hide our true feelings, unconsciously, we betray ourselves. Good readers, sure can tell the difference...

Ain't Life A Huge Theater?

hi elz

i never pay much attention to what's going on around me in blogland (or in real life)
i have a very simple rule
trying not to bother people and praying people would not bother me
for the rest anyone can be whatever they want as long as there is no harm done

as for how people see me...most of the time i don't care

take care always

It pays to be very keen observer, Bestest Friend. I always pay attention to details, while minding my own business...And likewise, I deal with what's being laid in front of me, Make or Break...

I don't care either, for I am being regarded as an open "library" here, but it helps me vent, and or helps me cope...Even if the issues remain blurry and unresolved. I know that I'm not gonna die anyway...

so ain't life grand?! we can be who we want to be, be with who we want to be with, and stay away from those who we don't want in our lives.. choice is the equalizer so if we have that, then there is nothing to fear or be ashamed of. we are the drivers of our fates. the world is our theatre and if nobody wants to watch, i guess that's not a problem as long as it pleases us.

in other words, who cares?

My closet is full of many masks
I can choose to wear.
For my true face
I would never share.
Each day I awaken
I look to see which mask I want to put on me.
Which one do I want to choose?
Do I want to make people laugh today?
Do I want to console someone
who has had a loss?
Do I want to act wild and free?
It is so very hard not to show the real me.
People do not want to see
what lies deeply in me.
My pain I keep hidden away, showing the world what
they want to see.
My masks are to make people's lives better.
That is what I want them to see.
I always put the world before me.
I am no one when I stand alone
but my masks are made intricately
to fill the voids people have within them,
to take away any sad feelings they have within their hearts.
For my quest in life has always been
to bring happiness and love to people around me.

"to wear a mask: that has a 2 fold purpose. others look at it as stealth; whereas others use a mask as a means for survival in this cruel world. not all intentions of everyone are real...
some are true; some use masks to take advantage of others... and some... they use masks for security" by Jose Rizal "the playboy"

I don't have many masks to wear.... It's hard for me to wear, as people will easily identify my real feelings, eventhough I try to hide in a mask....

I know most of us wear masks, Jeanny.. and we use them for different purposes....Like privacy is one, and will always be respected, for as long as it's not use to victimize others..Have a great day!

Life is like a play - we merely go through the stages of our life acting it out.
Origin

From Shakespeare's As You Like It, 1600:

JAQUES:
All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

within each one of us, and let it begin with me (and each one of us)..one breath at a time.
