Will They Survive The Test Of Time And Distance?

...Young hearts, young minds, young dreams...With just a month to go, lovelife for sonny Mark is not going too great. GF is really not in favor of him becoming an Emirates FA. They've been sweethearts for almost 4 years now. Although I'd say it's been a stormy relationship of love-hate, break-up/make-up cycle, they manage to hold on and are still together. She's the eldest, and he's the only , but both are "rotten" spoiled, or at some point, they were. They are now both successful RNs, and have "grown up" just as how life stages are anticipated. With her continued proddings and beggings and quarreling and what have you, now' he's getting more confused and ambivalent. Still, I am just staying behind. It's his life, it's his dream, it's his decision. I can only be supportive. He does want to go ahead. Of course, there are fears of the unknown, and while it's quite easy for him to come back anytime, there's this uncertainty that love maybe no longer there. And I say to him: "If she truly loves you, she'll understand that you do have some dreams that you need to fulfill, and this is the chance, and may be only once in your lifetime." Even though they're very up to date with the latest communication technologies, there is this BIG question of:

" Will They Survive The Test Of Time And Distance? "

I can only hope and pray that THEY BOTH WILL...

they look good together...and seems she's so in love...but mark still too young and going far away is a good test if they really true to each other.

love is the greatest gift of all

You are right, Jeanny...She's like an FBI to my son...sometimes, the love that she has is choking him...But, I like her in a way, because she "brought Mark closer to God"...

You know ,STACY, sometimes, I worry, because I know how my son is when he is down...BUT, no matter how difficult it is, I need for him to paddle his own canoe...Take care and thanks for the visit.

By that time, you'll understand me a lot better...But I guess, there is this pattern amongst you and your friends there in JAX...Like Eldon's Jr, is joining the airforce, and now, maybe your Keith will join the navy...I say WOW! To each his/her dreams...

I can relate, it's difficult. I've been in your son's gf's position and I may experience it the other way around too depending what I can do in the future.

Wishing the couple all the best.
It's a test of whether they really love each other because distance shouldn't stop them from being together in the future.

Distance could either make their hearts grow fonder or make their hearts grow colder. Depending on whether they can stand being apart for a long time.

within each one of us, and let it begin with me (and each one of us)..one breath at a time.

Not ALL parents would like their kids to join the military or navy..BUt I salute those who do...It's for the country and it's a really noble patriotism, with very good benefits...Kudos!
