How Do I Propose To A Man?

 "Will You Be My ... Husband?" Today, women are twisting traditional gender roles more than ever, whether they're running for the presidential nomination, competing in a male-dominated professional golf tournament, hitting the open-wheel racing circuit, or heading a Fortune 500(TM) company. As women take on larger leadership roles in the workplace and in society, it's only natural that they've begun to assume these roles in the realm of romance, as well. This "role reversal" trend is not only evident in the number of women proposing, but in society's willingness to accept this shift, as six out of ten Americans (59 percent) do not think that men should always be the ones to propose. I've always considered myself a Modern Maria Clara, and lately, this idea popped up in my head, which really sounds very unconventional for me, and I know, I am "capable" of doing this, when the "good candidate" comes along...  ..And I know, I don't have to wait for the next LEAP YEAR to have this done (for some reasons, I was told that it's okay for women to propose to men during Leap Year (the last one was 2008 )...And all I needed is that good candidate, the right reason to propose, and of course, the right time..  ..I know, a lot of eyebrows will be raised, but hey! there is this good possibility that I will!...Don't dare me!...(you'll never regret it anyway)

AMS, I wouldn't mind if she's my girlfriend but I would still like to feel that I proposed because I like to prepare for this with roses and an engagement ring and a special dinner. I'd like it to be a BIG MOMENT for both of us! It means that I am ready for the plunge. But during courtship, I rather like to do the chasing and the wooing. Elz I think this kinda dovetails with a previous post I made here, if you are in a committed relationship and she thinks he is dragging his feet, by all means, call him on the carpet, if he runs, he isn't worth your love or your time, but even if it is a foregone conclusion and the discussions are over, for me, it will still be the bended knee and the ring thing to make it offical, some traditions just are meant to be kept....Ladies, go with your heart, let him know how you feel in new and old relationships, you may surprize him and yourself.... for what it's worth DAVE

Honestly, it's not easy to find someone who matches your caliber. I know you are not materialistic and high maintenance but your status and "BRAINS" would make any guy think twice even if they love you so much! Thanks, Stacy...I think, sacrifice has been a huge part of my life...Being self-less, is actually making me love-less too..I just don't know when to stop...Meaning, if I decide to be selfish, will I be able to nail love down?..There are still men out there who want to be "controlled" by women...Why is that?

Just like ladies, men also have their soft sides. Some of us do like to be pampered and "controlled" in ways that shows caring and affection. Me, I feel blessed when a woman buys me a shirt or a pair of sock or just any small things I can do myself but she does it without telling me. Whatever pleases a lady also pleases a man. That's one good tip for you Els.

i am not just a man. i just don't pursue anyone that initially dismayed me in the process by which they are unwilling to know the real me. suits yourself ELZ, but good luck on all your endeavors! but as always i am always thankful and appreciative of the memories of our ebs. it will be endearingly cherished in my memories. yeah just memories cuz i don't even have pics of those ebs to remind how magical it were (the ebs).

Honestly, it's not easy to find someone who matches your caliber. I know you are not materialistic and high maintenance but your status and "BRAINS" would make any guy think twice even if they love you so much! And of course, you have your standard(s)and your own FEELings to consider ...whether you're comfortable enough to be with/near him for life.
