1. Gorgeous New Yorkers like Asian women.
2. You learn to adapt to different people and handle life's curveballs better.
3. You learn to live by the clock. No excuse for being late. Time management is a must.
4. You learn to plan for the future and stick to your plans. You learn to dream and go for your dreams.
5. They assume you have your own car. If not, you have to walk blocks and blocks. Very good for the health. Makes you more buff. And you get to see so many pretty things along the way. Or you can learn to work the subway. That, in itself, is lotsa fun. If you're passionate about exploring places and seeing new sights.
6. You learn to be more health conscious. You jog. You enroll in Sports Clubs. You eat veggies more. You begin to play some sports and enjoy some sports.
7. You learn the value of money. Coz everything is expensive, and you've worked real hard for every penny.
8. You can't take anyone or anything for granted. You gotta cherish what you have and develop new bonds.
9. Your family and friends become more precious.
10. If you work real hard, you can achieve most anything you set your eyes on. Anything is possible. The key is, you gotta work real hard. Nothing's easy.
11. You learn to take care of your own stuff. Do your own laundry. Take care of your kids' needs. Train them to be self-sufficient. Train them to have skills and tools to face the world. Things you take for granted in a gentler world.
12. When you open the faucet, you have warm water. I've been in an area in the Phils where I needed to fetch water from the artesian well at 3am. And to heat the water over the stove or an open fire. This is an extreme though. Not every Filipino has that difficulty with water supply. But you get my drift.
13. Lemme celebrate that one more time, in America, you got hot water in the faucet any time. U can enjoy a warm shower anytime of the day. And I shower atleast six times a day here. lol. It is very relaxing. Every time I open the faucet, I thank God and I say: God bless America!
14. Rules and laws are strictly adhered to. No cash gifts for misdemeanors. People have to tow the line. There is more discipline.
15. People generally mind their own business. Except if you live in a Filipino community. Hehehe. They can get very nosy.

Hmmm very similar to the U.K.
Everything you outlined is true.
When I was a kid, I used to see pictures of faucets with blue and red colours on top of it or known as taps in British English. I wasn't sure what the colours meant and guessed later that it might be something to do with the temperature.
Amen!! Thank God for hot water.
Thanks Vi. brilliant!

I also shower many times a day. I like to keep very fresh
but hot water is over-rated. Cold water is better for the skin. try not to cook your beautiful skin
