Let's just chill out folks!

Here in Calgary, folks seem be getting a little freaked out. A national gym chain just closed it's doors members and nonmembers alike, the malls are nearly empty, the library closed it's doors today indefinitely, I'm sitting in an empty cafe in the middle of the day and no one is bothering me (actually, that part is kind of nice). I've lived through diseases that should have killed me before my 3rd birthday, I was in China during the SARS epidemic, travelling around within, lived through serious starvation and pneumonia (twice more) in China and now I'm back in Calgary with heart problems and people keep asking why I'm not freaked out. If it's going to come and get me, then here I am, come on! I'm not particularly tough nor stronger than others, but my life is not getting put on hold while I wait for it to come for me. I worry about the people that are losing jobs because of this, the long reaching financial results of this could be catastrophic to many. Me, I'm an old guy on welfare, I get just enough to get by but I have a comfortable bed to sleep in, my computer for entertainment and friends all over this world that I worry more about than myself. Let's just try to get by this, put it behind us. Let's put the conspiracy theories away, take some time to kick back and rest and get ready for the next stage in life, post-COVID-19 and in the meantime, take good care of yourself and your loved ones and let's just stop freaking out. OK?

this pandemic has ruined a lot of lives and plans of the living, as well...i was supposed to explore edmonton, come spring time, when i arrived in this place winter time, but nah! it didn't make me do the possible..

i find it best to be just staying at home, away from getting infected with this senior liability i have..but am not complaining, everything will have its time..for now, am contented doing things that make me productive, like gardening, home crafts and blogging...though i don't have my own personal webpage for it...

Are you in Edmonton now? I'm in Calgary (my hometown) and have a minor operation on Friday (July 10th), but I'll be back in my messy little apartment on Saturday, the day after. Then it's 6 weeks of recuperation time with no heavy lifting on my left side. I hope all is well with you.

Edmonton is a good place to be, I lived there for 4.5 years while I attended university (U of A). In 33 years in Calgary I never shoveled nearly as much snow as I did in the 4.5 years I lived in Edmonton, and I only had to do it every other snowfall. But I liked Edmonton and the people there despite the sports rivalries between our two cities. Many of my friends here tell me how much they hate Edmonton despite never having visited there. I hope you enjoy your time there.

am spending more time in-doors these days. mainly because of the pandemic and secondly due to the erratic weather..summer time it is but the temperature is windy and chilly plus plenty of rains...can't do much progress with my gardening with the rains and strong winds..i feel am under house arrest but not a captive really but more of a recluse..i believe i met you in person already, during one of FFF's group gatherings in a resort in quezon city, which i organized years back..were you not there with thess? you both taught english in china at that time...you housed in a senior home? you mentioned above you are on welfare?

Sorry, I've never been to Quezon. Only Cebu and parts of Bohol. But I understand, all us foreigners look alike!

There are more amenable places to chat than this platform. For instance, I'm the only randy.hedges in Calgary on eff book or do you have other preferences?
